Ingredienser:
2 ägg
425 g brun farin(5 1/2 dl)
2 dl sirap
2 tsk malda nejlikor
1 tsk mald ingefära
1 tsk mald kanel
220 g rört smör
1 msk bikarbonat
13 dl vetemjöl + 2 dl till utbakning
50 g skållad mandel
Äggen vispas pösigt med farinet. Sirapen kokas upp. Då den svalnat tillsättes kryddorna och det rörda smöret. Tillsätt äggsmeten. Blanda mjöl och bikarbonat och rör ned i smeten.
Tillsätt eventuellt mera mjöl. Degen skall gå att forma i handen. Baka ut degen till små bollar. Degen får ej stå utan skall bakas ut genast. Garnera med en mandelstrimma i mitten av kakan. Grädda kakorna i 200o ugn cirka 10 minuter.
Kommentar:
Receptet som användes långt in på 1900-talet på Olivehult ger hårda kakor med god hållbarhet. I ursprungsreceptet är jäsmedlet pottaska, här utbytt mot bikarbonat.
